”Six years ago, when my father had suffered a stroke and my mother was diagnosed with dementia, I was told I needed to arrange for 24-hour care. I had no idea where to turn. Fortunately, the psychologist handed me Robin’s card and that was a turning point. Robin was the warm and knowledgeable expert to whom I could turn whenever I had a question about how to care for my parents. She connected me with wonderful people, including home health aides, a music therapist, and an in-home nurse practitioner and dentist, all of whom were able to serve my parents’ evolving needs. She assisted with trouble-shooting questions like whether my parents would be better off in a nursing home, what kind of intellectual and emotional stimulation to provide them, how to manage a team of 4 aides, where to procure a hospital bed, and when to put them into hospice care. Most of all, Robin was always available to talk through complex issues, and never failed to have constructive suggestions and make me feel better during what was a long-term and emotionally difficult process. My family will always be grateful to her for providing invaluable support and enabling our parents to live their final years in their own home.”
